F.A.Q.'S

Q: Will I receive written confirmation that my child is enrolled?

A: No. Your returned deposit check is your confirmation.

Q: What should my child bring to camp?

A: Overnight Campers should bring plenty of soccer clothing, a soccer ball, sunscreen, alarm clock, all linens, swimming suit, any medications necessary, and spending money. Day campers should arrive dressed to play soccer in shorts, t-shirts, shin guards, socks and cleats or tennis shoes. Both Day and Overnight campers must bring a soccer ball. Don't forget your swimming suit for the daily swimming session! (Half Day campers do not swim). All campers will receive a free Diadora soccer camp T-shirt, backpack, and water bottle.

Q: Where do I register / pick up my child?

A: Once on campus, follow the signs to Soccer Registration. Full Day and Half Day campers should be dropped off and picked up at the Furman Soccer Stadium.

Q: Is there any free time?

A: There is basically no free time. Campers are continually busy playing or learning soccer from breakfast until after the evening games.

Q: What type of supervision do you provide?

A: Campers are supervised by staff members during the entire camp. No one is allowed to leave campus. Dorms are supervised 24 hours a day.

Q: Are teams welcome?

A: Teams or groups are encouraged to attend the Team Academy. We will accept teams or groups at all other sessions as well. Please designate on your application if you are attending as part of a team or group.

Q: Are individuals welcome at Team Camp?

A: Yes. Please designate if you are an individual attending the Team Academy so that we may assign you to a team of similar age.

Q: Is there a separate Goalkeeper Academy?

A: Yes. During both overnight academies the goalkeeper camp will be run by Presbyterian Head Coach, Bret Boulware. Goalkeepers will rejoin their teams for evening games.

Q: Can parents or coaches watch the sessions?

A: Yes! All sessions are open to parents and coaches.

Q: Where are the campers housed?

A: All overnight campers stay in the air-conditioned Furman dorms. Campers are assigned two to a room. (You may choose to designate a roommate on your application). Please bring single bed sheets, pillow and blanket. There are no telephones in the individual dorm rooms. Campers have access to pay phones in the hallways.

Q: What equipment does the Camp provide?

A:A T-shirt and water bottle are provided to every camper.

Q: Does my child need any spending money?

A: Your child may need extra money for the camp Snack Bar, Furman Bookstore, and the Soccer Camp Store. Some campers may wish to order pizzas for a late night snack.

Q: Where is Furman University located?

A: Furman University is located in Greenville, South Carolina, which is centrally located two hours from Columbia, SC; Charlotte, NC; and Atlanta, GA. The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport (GSP) is 20 minutes from campus. Shuttle service can be purchased through the camp ($10 each way). Please include a copy of your flight schedule with your application.
